warrior school

Pioneering entrepreneur Anthony Willoughby has recently returned to the UK after launching a ground-breaking new Warrior Business School in the Kenyan bush which enables brave British companies to inspire their employees while at the same time improving leadership skills and overall performance.

warrior school images Anthony’s inspirational journeys of discovery literally take employees from large and small companies in the UK to rediscover management and leadership skills by spending time with remote tribes people in Kenya and Papua New Guinea. In the future he also plans to run similar programmes in the Southern Sudan and Libya. For the last fifteen years he has been running leadership programmes on The Great Wall of China.

Those who have participated in his adventures over the last twenty years say that they have obtained totally fresh perspectives about their business and personal goals and objectives while at the same time developing fascinating insights into resource management, risk analysis and leadership. Many expeditions are in very hostile environments where decision making is not about profit and loss but life and death.

Dave Green, managing director of Channel Safety Systems, which is based in Petersfield in Hampshire, has already invested in, and achieved great results from Anthony’s programmes. Since Channel started incorporating his adventures as part of their reward, recognition and personal development programmes, their sales have more than doubled from £4m to £9m. Some of the adventures the Channel staff have been on include:
  •  Three days strategy planning on the ramparts of Great Wall of China, which included sleeping on ...the Wall in sleeping bags under the stars.
  •  Spending time with remote tribes in Papua New Guinea exploring leadership
  •  Climbing Mt Kenya – 5,188 metres - Most recently Dave, his employees and a key supplier have ..returned from a week with the Maasai tribe in Kenya to explore their perspectives on resource   ..management, leadership and decision making.

Dave Green told the invited business audience of 50 people at the launch the first in house Warrior School about his core values of Pride, Confidence, Belonging and Winning and how aims to use the Warrior School programmes to help Channel to achieve growth in sales, people and margins.

Five members of Channel’s staff reported how they had developed in personal and business terms from their adventures in Kenya and China. Currently Anthony is working with Rod Cornwell, director of Thomas International, to explore ways that employee growth in leadership, management and emotional intelligence skills can actually be measured and linked to bottom line performance. Thomas are one of the largest personality profiling companies with 35,000 customers.

Anthony has written a book called In Search of Inspiration about his journeys to high mountains, deserts and what he learnt from Joseph Nombri a charismatic Papua New Guinea Tribal Chief. He believes passionately in the importance of courage, confidence and the incredible value of real life experience.

The reason Anthony takes people to spend time with the tribes is because of what he learnt from his own experience of staying with indigenous people in Kenya, Papua New Guinea and elsewhere. He discovered that they still have many of the values and personal resources that western ‘civilization’ seems to have forgotten: Such as confidence, courage, responsibility, humility, pride, respect, dignity, clarity and a sense of belonging. By taking individuals to stay with the indigenous people he has discovered that they can rediscover the skills for themselves and use them in their everyday lives.

The Warrior School business programmes are designed and delivered by Anthony Willoughby and Chris Howe, who has many years of experience in developing and delivering a wide range of training programmes that challenge people to learn for themselves rather than spoon feeding them with information.

“I cannot recall any other occasion when all involved derived so much benefit personally and professionally" Andrew Finney, Managing Director, Countrywide Mobility. Our monthly average sales have increased by over 148% compared to last year”.
